VCE VET DANCE

Academy of Dance Victoria proudly partners with Australian Teachers of Dancing (RTO31624) to deliver VCE/VET Dance which includes Certificate II in Dance.
COURSE OBJECTIVE
VCE VET Dance is a pre-vocational course, and will prepare you to audition for further (tertiary) training as dancer, dance teacher or choreographer. The course will give you a taste of what the industry is like so you can work out if you want to pursue dance as a career. If you successfully complete this course you will receive a Certificate II in Dance CUA20113. VET Dance is available as a VCE subject OR as part of a VCAL program.
VCE VET DANCE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Students may commence VCE VET Dance in year 9, 10 or 11, 12.

VCE VET DANCE ATAR SCORE CONTRIBUTION
2 solos (one in each dance style) contribute 50% to your ATAR score for VCE VET Dance
School assessed coursework contributes the other 50% of your ATAR score for VCE VET Dance

COURSE STRUCTURE
The Certificate II in Dance CUA20113 VCE VET Dance course is delivered over two years part-time. Students should complete Units 1 & 2 (year 1) before enrolling in Units 3 & 4 (year 2).

PERFORMANCES
Our VCE/VET Dance students will have the opportunity to perform in a mid-year and end of year performance.
TEACHER: Chelsea Byrne
Chelsea is an independent artist and educator who has studied dance extensively, and has also completing a Master of Dance through Victoria College of the Arts. Her study and continuing practice privileges image based improvisation, multidisciplinary collaboration and interpersonal encounters between audience and performer. She has taught contemporary dance, choreography and improvisation as part of secondary and tertiary dance courses in Sydney, Melbourne and London (UK) and is dedicated to mentoring young artists toward accessing movement efficiency and understanding the infinite potential of movement; developing individual style and self-direction.

The Certificate II in Dance CUA20113 VCE VET Dance course is provided though our Partnership with the ATOD (Australian Teachers of Dance) Registered Training Organisation.
