The Academy provides a friendly but disciplined approach that instills the students with confidence. Professional training in an encouraging environment teaching the students a love of dance. Students are encouraged to explore this through classes that promote creativity, discipline and the joy of dance. Classical ballet is the core training for dancers and all students are encouraged to take classical (although it is not compulsory).
The Academy also provides dance training for many Calisthenics and Gymnastic students and enjoys working with them to help them achieve their goals.
The Academy caters for students aged from 2 years to 18 years old. Classes are also available for private lessons, competition preparation and audition preparation.

Academy of Dance Victoria (ADV) provides two streams of training to cater for all types of students and to ensure everyone can receive the best type of training suited to them!
Please note that
* ALL Pre-school (ages 2 – 5) and some prep classes are not streamed.
* Students are welcome to change streams at any stage please feel free to discuss student placement with Miss Tamara.
Stream B (Prep/Grade 1 and above): For the student who wishes to learn dance purely for the fun, fitness and social benefits. Stream B students have their own classes for Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Acrobatics and Song & Dance. Classes are focused on learning basic dance skills at each level and style with a focus on fun and confidence & co-ordination building. All Stream B students participate in the end of year concert but do not have any other commitments through out the year and do not need to undertake dance exams.
Stream A (Prep/Grade 1 and above): For the student who is passionate about their dance training and wishes to learn at a higher standard or keep their options open for the future. Students who undertake ballet classes are automatically in Stream A due to the fact that ballet puts students technically further ahead than students who don't have ballet. Students must also all do ballet to be in Stream A.
Stream A students also have access to performance groups and solo lessons and competitions. Stream A students have access to multiple performance opportunities during the year including mid year and end of year concerts. Students who continue in this stream keep their options open for future access to things such as VCE Dance, Full time Dance/Performing arts training, Dance Teacher training, and/or auditions for professional work in dance, theatre, tv and film if they so choose.
